It is completely possible to understand exactly what your child needs, including the entire special education process.
You can make sure your child receives the very best school support with just a little bit of preparation.
It’s time consuming. If it was easy, you would already be doing it.
And what’s worse is feeling like you’re not in control or understanding your child’s education. But do you want to let your school district make all the decisions?
Do you want to set your child up for a lifetime of a generic unpredictable education?
I get it! Every time you are in an IEP or teacher conference you leave confused and don’t know how to help or what action to take next, except for letting the school take control.
I can’t tell you how many of my clients come to me admitting they think they’re a bad parent because they don’t know how to help their child.
But... It’s not true. You’re an incredible parent because you want to be your child’s best advocate.
It’s not your fault that the school system makes special education services so confusing.
The truth is:
We were never taught this. Sure you know basic education, but as you will learn there are so many more teaching strategies today that will help create a unique plan that works for your child.
Growing up, you learned there was one way of doing everything, but now there are so many different strategies to learn the same information.
The thing is… If you aren’t an educator you don’t know all of these strategies to help your child learn in a way that will help them reach their full potential.
And if you are like most of my clients before they start working with me, then you probably feel frustrated and deflated… already wondering how long you can keep this up before the next meeting, right?
Most people think that to understand special education, they have to spend hours researching and learning everything on their own.
But the truth is, all you really need is to have the IEP (Individualized Education Program) process broken down for you into easy-to-understand steps.
Then you’ll have all the basic information you need in order to thrive in any school meeting and make informed decisions about your child’s education.
But if you don’t get a clear picture of how the IEP process really works, then unfortunately you’ll run the risk of not being in a place to understand your child’s education and better help them succeed.
You constantly feel that you need to learn one more thing to help your child, so you read and subscribe to everything you can get your hands on and you stay in a constant state of learning rather than executing.
Research never seems to end – There’s always more articles and information to stay on top of.
You always feel rushed and pressured, never, having enough time. Like You’re drowning in a sea of too much to do, unable to juggle it all and find the best solution.
You get paralyzed by fear and rejection when you make a suggestion at the IEP Meeting, or think your idea is not good enough to help your child.
You are overwhelmed by the uncertainty that makes every decision feel like an “all or nothing” gamble so you never take action during the meeting…
How many of those bullets sounded like you? If even one of those statements resonated with you, now you know why getting help for your child is so difficult.
If you’re like most struggling parents, chances are you’re operating from a one-way mindset that you learned from your upbringing.
But that's ok! It’s all that you knew… UNTIL NOW!
With the one-way mindset, your growth is dependent on learning everything one-way… the traditional way. Everything “new” seems way too risky. You’re always tip-toeing around the edges of being scared to take action and help your child.
It also creates a constant need for approval. A need to know more. A need for certainty that you understand. This need will keep you trapped.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
You can have the most important voice in your child’s education, and it doesn’t have to be difficult or confusing.
With just a little preparation, you can feel completely confident that you know exactly how to get your child the best supports and resources that he or she deserves.

Thank God for Kathleen! She has been the answer to our prayers! Just finished up a great call with so much insight.
So thankful for Kathleen! She has been the biggest support system I could ask for.
Kathleen was very encouraging and informative about tips and tricks to overcome dyslexia.
I’ve helped hundreds of parents understand the IEP Process, and now it is your turn!
Individual coaching with me can cost over $1,000 dollars from start to finish when it comes to writing IEPs. And other parents tell me I should be charging over $2,000 dollars of all of this information.
But over the past few years, I’ve seen so many parents struggle with understanding the IEP process and feeling overwhelmed and frustrated at the school meetings. Sadly, they tend to stay stuck not understanding the process and finding ways to help their child have a better education. Feeling defeated, they just let the school make all the decisions.
If you don’t learn everything you need to know about IEPs, you will never be able to help your child receive the best services he or she deserves at school.
And I don’t want that to happen to you or your child.
That’s why I want to make sure I get this training into as many parents’ hands as I possibly can so I can help you understand IEPs even faster.
You want more time to enjoy with your child rather than feeling rushed or confused by how to help him or her with schoolwork
You want to be less overwhelmed when it comes to IEP meetings and special education information
You want to feel confident about the IEP process and understand your child’s rights to the best services
You want to help your child succeed at school without feeling “less than”
You would like support before, during and after each meeting
You’d love to be able to ask questions to a special education expert outside of the school system

Being dyslexic myself, I understand what it's like not to be able to read, write and spell. That was me in the first grade. I remember sitting at the reading table, and just staring at the letters, because they weren’t making sense to me. Reading was hard, and it made me feel like a failure.
Nothing was clicking for me, and my teachers didn’t know how to help me.
It wasn’t until the third grade that I finally got the help that I needed. At this time, I started working with a private tutor who was an Orton-Gillingham certified instructor. With this direct, systematic and multi-sensory approach to learning, I finally learned how to read!
For the next several years, I attended a private school for dyslexic students. Where I was able to learn the way I needed. After four years, I went back to a regular public high school, I was able to test out all of the strategies and accommodations that I was taught. And you know what? I succeeded!
When the time came, I also found the perfect college. With an updated learning evaluation in place, I was able to get the accommodations I needed to be successful. I can't tell you how much relief I felt when I finally was able to learn the way I needed to in college and have all the accommodations I needed.
I also understand what it's like to struggle with dyslexia as an adult, but I've learned that the advantages outweigh the challenges. I still use assistive technology to help with challenges and getting my time back with reading, writing and spelling. But with all the advantages I’ve experienced, I have found a way to succeed in this world.
Now I can't imagine what life would be like today without being dyslexic. Being dyslexic has made me who I am today, and I’m truly grateful for that. Now that I understand my own superpowers and advantages, I feel empowered. And this is what I want for your children, too. I want to share all of my knowledge and simple strategies so that you can help your child feel successful and empowered in this world, too. I am here to help you and your child find your path.
